• Notes

  According to papers in the Germantown archives at Louisiana Tech University, Francis J. Bopp left Germantown in 1851. He lived in Arkansas and purchased land there in 1859. He rode horseback to California during the Gold Rush years, before returning to Louisiana. I believe that the records of Francis J. Bopp's enlistment in the Union Army in California belong to our Francis J. Bopp. He returned to Louisiana and married Catherine Boepple Miller.
